Joining Our Club

Greetland FC always welcome new players in all age groups. We have teams from Under 6's to Under 16's, as well as several all Girls teams and two Open Age sides. Greetland FC are one of only a handful of clubs in West Riding to have achieved the FA Charter Standard Community Club Status. As a Club we take great pride in having gained this prestigious award.

All the managers and parent helpers are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked as laid down by FA guidelines.

These are checks on peoples history to ensure they have no convictions which might make them unsafe to work with children. We have a designated Child Protection Contact in David Wilkinson, a Child Protection policy and Code of Conduct, for Players, Managers and Parents to ensure the safety of all children within the Club.

If you would like to join our club, please email us at for details.

We have enjoyed multiple successes in girls football in recent years. Our Girl's teams have a proud history as league, cup and tournament winners in recent years and we hope there’s much more to come.

Although managers naturally have different methods of operating, we would recommend bringing your child along to a training session or two before deciding on registering. Please visit our teams section to see which age groups are running this year.

Our Objectives

Why Join Us?

A message from the chairman… “Welcome to Greetland Football Club. Our key aim of providing a fun, positive experience for young footballers remains as strong as ever! We value all our players and promote a strong community spirit within the club, for all our stakeholders. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact us”

Here at Greetland FC we pride ourselves on the approach we take to develop the young people who join us. Training and match days are par for the course, however we believe a junior footballer’s (and you, the parents) time with us should be more than just that. We have a fantastic manager and coaching team, backed up by enthusiastic volunteers to handle our off the field ventures, all of which make up the Greetland family.

Although we hope players enjoy their time with us, we are keen to offer more than just a basic footballing experience! Whether it’s taking part in events hosted by local teams such as Halifax Town (see above) or numerous social and fun events throughout the season, there really is something for everyone.

Clark Carlisle

Our fun and social events often see famous faces pop in to help out. Former Watford and Burnley defender Clarke Carlisle helped out at one of our recent social events (above) and current Carlisle forward Danny Cadamarteri has twice assisted parent volunteers at our annual penalty shootout events (below).

We like to emphasise our family and community spirit in what we do, but our players also benefit from a dedicated team determined to provide the best experience possible. We have recently linked up with Huddersfield Town (below) to offer our players access to top-quality coaching sessions and opportunities to take part in the Guard of Honour.

We like to offer our players varied and enjoyable experiences within football. In recent times, several of our teams have hosted clubs from around the UK and beyond, including Worcestershire based side Warndon Sharks and even Aberdeen’s football Academy! (below). In more recent times, we have also been fortunate to host the Australian Academy side from Balcatta (below) as we look to develop links with clubs and organisations further afield.

And then of course, there’s our results! The last decade has seen unprecedented success and a trophy haul of 33 competition wins since the year 2000, not to mention numerous club and individual awards, speaks for itself.

And when you reach the end of the team cycle in junior football? Well there’s plenty of opportunity for progression for all our players. Our Open Age team is a natural playing progression but we also offer players the opportunity to get involved with the coaching aspect of the game, shadowing more experienced coaches to ‘learn the ropes’. Our belief in young people is never misplaced and we are one of the only clubs in Calderdale to appoint several teenage managers and coaches in the last decade.

Whether you’re looking to find a club as a new player in our under sixes, or on the hunt for a place with an older age group and think Greetland FC is the club for you, why not contact us today?
